国営ひたち海浜公園－Hitachi-kaihin National Government Park in Ibaraki prefecture - carpets of Nemophila flowers

Hitachi-kaihin Park or Hitachi Seaside Park boasts of immeasurable land space, which is said to be about 350ha( about 865ac) and seven times as large as Tokyo Disneyland.

Around Golden week (from April 29 to May 6) we can see Nemohila flowers full bloom in this park. It is said there are about 4,500thousand Nemohila and begin to full bloom all together. It looks just like sky's carpet and it is surely the breathtaking beauty of the scenery.

Many tourists including non Japanese come to this park during Golden week (from April 29 to May 6 in 2019). This day was a beautiful day, so when you climbed the small hill　called Miharashi-no-oka(meaning the hill of nice view), you could see blue carpets of Nemophila flowers and blue of the Pacific Ocean. What a cheerful day!!

This hill is also well known for red Kochia plants in the fall. And various beautiful flowers bloom in each four seasons. I hear this place had been a firing practice field for the US military until 1973. Peace is precious!!
